Our African American History Month was celebrated with 2 days of excitement!
Starting with Urban Gateways, a traveling group visiting schools promoting history and culture in the Black community.
On this past Friday, our schools gymnasium was transformed into an African Village.
Countries representing were, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, and Madagascar.
Room 2B researched animals and plants from the wetlands of Madagascar!
They drew plants and animals and created beautiful artwork to sell and market.
2nd graders used wax paper, color pencils and construction paper. Pebbles were used to trim, to create a frame. Room 2B sold $12.15. Proceeds go towards our school fund.
